A sixth-grade girl, Doyeon, comes to the countryside during her summer vacation to attend her grandmother's funeral. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the funeral crowd, Doyeon meets her cousin Sung-jun who is the same age as her. On a summer night, while the adults are busy with funeral arrangements and the sounds of weeping are everywhere, Doyeon and some other children in the family are placed in a room to rest. As they lie together, Sung-jun takes his cousin’s hand and tells her that he likes her. Over the next three days, Doyeon plays with her cousin, feeling both uneasy and exhilarated by the new experience. On the last night, at Sung-jun’s suggestion, they sneak into an empty classroom and, imitating adults, experience their first intimate encounter.
