Rick (played by Leslie Cheung) is an enthusiast of shooting sports and a skilled competitor in IPSC (practical shooting competitions). He's also an expert at modifying firearms. Rick meets A Miu (played by Francis Ng), who belongs to the undercover team, as well as Joe (played by Philip Chan) from the Forensic Science Division and Vincent (played by Ko Tak Shiu). During a competition, Rick and A Miu meet and recognize each other as rivals, evenly matched until the final moment when a mentally unstable man enters and begins shooting people. Rick and his friend raise their weapons in self-defense, but A Miu hesitates to fire upon the real killer. Rick, however, quickly neutralizes the unstable man with precise shots. This marks Rick's first experience of the adrenaline rush that comes from killing with a gun.
