Xiaoi, an 18-year-old high school girl, is lively and cheerful. She does not do well in her study and every day she concentrates on baking ugly and hard cakes. She thinks that there is no happier thing than making perfect desserts until she meets a new friend and discovers that some things are sweeter than cakes. Xiaoi's new friend Miao Miao is a shy exchange student from Japan. Under her reserved appearance lies a cake expert. Miao Miao teaches Xiaoi the art of pastries while Xiaoi introduces Miao Miao to Taipei's most disgusting snack - chicken feet. The two girls look forward to having a very exciting year: they will do things they cannot do at home. For Xiaoi, an exciting life means doing what she wants, such as getting a tattoo or wearing a belly button ring, or living without her father; for Miao Miao, it is about finding her first love, like the kind of love her grandmother with Alzheimer's disease cannot forget. The cake contest that Miao Miao and Xiaoi have prepared for a long time is approaching, but instead of staying in the kitchen, Miao Miao spends all day in a second-hand CD store (it turns out that this was the place where Miao Miao's grandmother had her first love as a young girl). The boss, Chen Fei, wears big headphones every day to block himself off from the world. Miao Miao decides to uncover the sad secrets of the depressed boss and find out why he hates music. However, when Xiaoi finds out that Miao Miao likes Chen Fei, she realizes that her friendship with Miao Miao is deeper than she imagined. This summer, Miao Miao and Xiaoi learn about love. Their summer may be over, but their little journey into the world of feelings has just begun.
