The three-year-old Beetle car, Herbie, once had a proud racing record, and every move it made was the focus of media attention. But as time went by, Herbie's parts gradually aged, and after changing hands several times, no one remembers it now. The dilapidated Herbie was sold to the scrapyard and became ignored garbage with those cars that were about to be destroyed.
Maggie, who has just graduated from school, will start a new life in New York after the summer vacation. Maggie met Herbie at the recycling station and decided to test drive it.
