The youth depicted in films is always destroyed before our eyes, yet it doesn't quite resemble the tragedy described by Lu Xun. In movies like "A Brighter Summer Day", "Blue Gate Crossing", "Youth in the Bright Summer"... Youth is thus incredibly similar, yet each uniquely different, straightforward to the point of needing no beating around the bush or any innuendo. Regardless of gender, skin color, or region, all must undergo the same rites of passage into adulthood.
