"24-Redemption" is set on the U.S. presidential inauguration day, which falls on November 20th. The former President Noah Daniels (played by Powers Boothe) hands over the position to the new female President Allison Taylor (played by Cherry Jones). On the same day, a coup occurs in Africa. Jack Bauer, portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland, flees to an African country where he encounters an old friend played by Robert Carlyle, who runs a local school. Rescuing children caught in the turmoil becomes Jack's primary mission for the day and also serves as the main theme of this TV movie.
