Regardless of which class you choose, leveling up essentially boils down to allocating skill points and attribute points. Blacksmiths have the most skills among all classes, which also means they have the most diverse leveling methods. Before choosing a leveling method, it's essential to understand all the blacksmith's skills. Let's take a look at this diagram first; you can see that blacksmiths have a total of 20 skills.
I categorize these skills into three types:
### **1. Must-Practice Skills**
- **Blacksmith Spirit**: The foundation for all other skills.
- **Critical Strike**: A must-have skill for players who prefer solo play. It’s crucial for self-defense.
- **Collection**: Necessary for gathering materials used in crafting.
- **Item Appraisal**: A blacksmith who cannot appraise items is not a good blacksmith.
### **2. Not Recommended Skills**
- **Hammer Technique**: Allows combo attacks. However, due to the blacksmith's low hit rate, this skill is practically useless.
- **Throwing Bombs**: Makes bombs to throw at enemies. While fun, its attack power is too weak. Just look at what happened to Skeleton Doctor!
- **Cooking**: Creates health-restoring items. Too troublesome! Making these items is inefficient compared to fishing.
- **Advanced Cooking**: Creates advanced health-restoring items. Same reasoning as above.
- **Refining**: Extracts gems from +5 or higher items. Not recommended because by the time you reach +5, it’s already quite expensive, and the failure rate is extremely high. For example, I only managed to extract 2 crystals from a pair of +6 Soul Shoes after refining them.
- **Atomic Decomposition**: Breaks down items into atoms. No one really understands how it works, and it's practically useless.
- **Atomic Combination**: Combines atoms back into items. This feature is reportedly not yet open.
- **Soul Refinement**: Unknown function, not yet open.
### **3. Optional Skills**
- **Weapon Manufacturing**: Uses scrolls to craft weapons.
- **Weapon Synthesis**: Enhances weapon performance.
- **Armor Manufacturing**: Uses scrolls to craft armor.
- **Armor Synthesis**: Enhances armor performance.
- **Jewelry Manufacturing**: Uses scrolls to craft jewelry.
- **Jewelry Synthesis**: Enhances jewelry performance.
- **Alchemy**: Creates pet transformation items.
After reviewing these skills, do you have a general idea of which path you want your blacksmith to follow? If not, don't worry. Below, I'll explain some common leveling methods combined with attribute point allocation.
---
### **1. Cooking Master**
- **Skills to Practice**: Blacksmith Spirit → Cooking → Advanced Cooking.
- **Attribute Point Allocation**: Focus on Strength and Perception. Add points based on equipment requirements. Since cooking does not require Perception, any leftover points can be added to Strength or partially to Agility to improve hit rates.
This method levels up quickly, requiring only 70 skill points to max out the necessary skills. However, its biggest drawback is that once you level up too fast, you’ll run out of skill points and need to transition to another style. At this point, practicing other production skills will be slow, but alchemy could be considered as a secondary focus. This type of blacksmith has limited use and is mainly for those who want to play around.

### **2. Combat Blacksmith**
A blacksmith running a weapon shop should not be underestimated in combat ability.
The critical strike shown in the image is the blacksmith's signature move.
For combat-focused blacksmiths:
- **Skills to Practice**: Blacksmith Spirit → Hammer Technique → Critical Strike → Alchemy → Throwing Bombs (since bombs require creation, alchemy must also be learned).
**Attribute Point Allocation**: Extremely unconventional. Prioritize Perception and Agility to ensure you can wear equipment while improving hit rates. All remaining points go to Strength. In later stages, if you plan to make bombs, maintain a ratio of 2:1 between Strength and Perception.
This method is chosen by some Taiwanese servers, often referred to as the "godly leveling method." Blacksmiths usually rely on Perception for crafting, but this method avoids adding Perception entirely, instead focusing on Agility to compensate for the low hit rate caused by their weapons. This completely abandons the blacksmith's bread-and-butter production skills but allows for smoother leveling. Overall, it's a very unconventional method.

### **3. War Artisan**
This is the blacksmith's primary role and the greatest significance of their existence.
The image above shows my little blacksmith, Dongdong the Alchemist, at work.
Most people divide this type into three categories: Weapon Crafting, Armor Crafting, and Jewelry Crafting. Personally, I believe these three methods are similar and fundamentally belong to the same category. Due to the excessive number of skill points required, it's unrealistic to master all of them. Therefore, you must first decide on your specialization.
**Attribute Point Allocation**: Initially, focus on equipping gear. Later, adjust according to the scroll requirements. For weapon crafting, maintain a 2:1 ratio of Strength to Perception; for armor crafting, a 3:2 ratio; and for jewelry crafting, also a 3:2 ratio. Refer specifically to the scroll requirements.
**Skill Learning Order**:
- **Weapon Crafting**: Blacksmith Spirit → Weapon Manufacturing → Weapon Synthesis
- **Armor Crafting**: Blacksmith Spirit → Armor Manufacturing → Armor Synthesis
- **Jewelry Crafting**: Blacksmith Spirit → Jewelry Manufacturing → Jewelry Synthesis
These are the basic leveling methods for blacksmiths, totaling three main paths. Since production blacksmiths have three branches, you could also consider it as six different methods. Note that I did not list alchemy as a separate method because the required skill points are minimal, and features like atomic combination are not yet open, so it cannot yet be considered a full-fledged method.

### **Recommendation: Jewelry Crafting**
High-level armor and weapons are extremely difficult to craft and may not be worth the effort. Instead, focus on jewelry crafting, particularly "Fiery Tail," which has excellent attributes but no drop source yet, meaning it must be crafted by blacksmiths. Currently, in Beijing Server 2, a single Fiery Tail costs between 10 million to 15 million coins. The required materials are relatively easy to find, and since every warrior wants one, demand far exceeds supply. Successfully crafting one yields significant rewards.
#### **Specific Leveling Guide**
- Levels 1 to 10: Nothing special. At level 10, visit Paradise Weapon Shop to change professions. Be cautious when traveling to Snow Mountain Mining Village at level 10.
- Early-stage attribute points: Allocate based on equipment requirements. For surplus points, allocate based on the next tier of equipment. As you progress, remember to allocate Perception points for jewelry crafting. Initially, a 3:2 ratio of Strength to Perception is sufficient.

### **High-Level Jewelry Recipes**
- **Fiery Tail**: Skill Level 3, Level Requirement 40, Strength 79, Perception 53.
- **Demon Prince Wings**: Skill Level 3, Level Requirement 45, Strength 88, Perception 59.
- **Ice Queen Crystal**: Skill Level 6, Level Requirement 70, Strength 133, Perception 89.
- **Titan Claw**: Skill Level 7, Level Requirement 80, Strength 151, Perception 101.
- **Archangel Wings**: Skill Level 8, Level Requirement 90, Strength 169, Perception 113.
- **Archangel Wings Upgrade**: Skill Level 9, Level Requirement 100, Strength 187, Perception 125.
When leveling, adjust Perception based on your target level and desired jewelry. Generally, reaching Perception 101 by level 80 allows you to craft Titan Claws. Materials for claws are relatively easier to obtain, though making Gugu Gloves requires 8 tattoos and 15 Daddies' Youth, which can be challenging.
Success rates for synthesis are only about 30%. To increase chances, add gems, attribute stones, or +6G weapons. Even then, success rates remain low, making blacksmithing somewhat akin to gambling. Remember: luck determines everything!

### **Final Notes**
Not all blacksmith skills are equally useful. My curiosity led me to practice refining, which turned out to be a huge mistake. Refining a +6 Soul Shirt requires 8 pieces of smokeless coal, which is manageable, but extracting only 2 crystals afterward was utterly frustrating. Avoid this skill at all costs!
The blacksmith's primary role is item crafting, which is their fundamental reason for existing in the game. Training a blacksmith who cannot craft items is like training a priest who cannot heal—pointless. While the methods mentioned here may not guarantee wealth due to the high failure rates, they summarize the experiences of many high-level blacksmiths. Hopefully, this guide helps you train your blacksmith effectively.
