Bleach Full Series Plot Introduction:
At first, Kurosaki Ichigo was just a lanky yet fiery teenage boy with an unusual ability to see ghosts, living an otherwise ordinary life. His family consisted of his eccentric father who ran a clinic and also exorcised spirits, two normal sisters, and strict household rules that required him to be home by seven or face physical punishment from his violent father. The boisterous relationship between father and son, along with the understanding nature of his sisters, painted a picture of a typical comic protagonist's everyday life. It wasn't until Rukia was kicked into a corner by Ichigo and looked at him in astonishment asking "Can you see me?" that the curtain was officially raised on their story. From that moment on, everything around Kurosaki Ichigo changed drastically.
There are two types of souls in the world: one is called "Soul," which refers to ordinary spirits. The other is "Hollow," evil spirits that attack and devour the souls of both living and dead people.
Rukia, claiming to be a Shinigami (Death God), explained her job was to perform soul burials for regular spirits and guide them to a place called Soul Society, while eliminating Hollows. At that time, a Hollow was already nearby; Ichigo's father lay gravely injured, and his sister fainted before his eyes. Amidst his frantic heartbeat, he somehow unconsciously unlocked the Kidou (spirit magic) of the Death God, surprising Rukia with his incredible abilities. For both of them, it was all so unbelievable - he had never imagined that Death Gods could exist, and she had never seen or heard of such a powerful human being.
With no other choice, Ichigo received Rukia's powers and became a Death God. The black robes of a Death God, his Zanpakuto (sword) transformed by his spiritual power and grown larger, the massive and grotesque appearance of the Hollow - from this point onward, their destinies were tightly intertwined.
