The story takes place in July of the 14th year of Taisho (1925). Little Plum, the precious only daughter of parents who run a Western restaurant, is also fourteen years old and attends the Dongbang Starry Glory Women's College. In this school attended by well-born young ladies, Keiko, a "young lady" who is on good terms with Plum, suddenly tells her, "Please play baseball with me!"
