The少年 adventure comic "Fullmetal Alchemist", originally created by Hiromu Arakawa, has been serialized in the monthly magazine "Shonen GANGAN" (published by SQUARE ENIX) since 2001. To date, it has been released in 21 collected volumes and is a popular work with cumulative sales of 33 million copies. In 2003, BONES adapted this work into a 51-episode yearly anime series, further boosting its popularity. Fans will surely remember the poignant moment when the screen finally paused with both Elric brothers raising their hands toward the sky. Although a theatrical version titled "Conqueror of Shamballa" was later released to continue the TV series ending, fans' expectations for a sequel have remained high. Fortunately, four years later, the production team finally decided to respond to the fervent requests of the fans. When the 20th volume of the manga was published last year, BONES announced the creation of a second series of "Fullmetal Alchemist".
