On November 16, the case of male contestant E Jiehao suing female contestant Sun Yali for breach of promise to marry from the show "If You Are The One" was heard at Chaoyang Court. E Jiehao sued for the return of a BMW car he gifted to the woman "for marriage". Sun Yali admitted that the BMW was purchased by the man, but stated there was no marriage agreement and that his gift of the car was a display of wealth rather than a dowry "for marriage", thus she refused to return it. It is understood that E Jiehao participated in "If You Are The One" and was rejected by 24 female contestants, including Sun Yali. In October last year, Sun Yali held hands with a young man from Hong Kong on the show. In May this year, E Jiehao sued Sun Yali for the return of a TV set and a BMW car given to her with the purpose of marriage, and applied to the court for preservation of the property of the BMW car, which was approved by the court. On May 29, Sun Yali posted on Weibo that she was single and had no marriage agreement. She also accused E Jiehao of using her for publicity and harming her. Sun Yali's agent said that Sun Yali had never discussed marriage with E Jiehao and had not received the BMW car from him. During the pre-trial evidence exchange, the plaintiff and defendant applied for a non-public trial, which was not approved by the court.
