The "sex photo scandal" involving Edison Chen has escalated beyond what many people could have anticipated. Waves of alleged indecent photos of artists have been released online, with only a few photos being leaked daily in the first week. However, in the past few days, there have been two instances where over a hundred photos were released as a form of protest. As of now, the number of indecent photos has reached as high as 465, involving seven female celebrities.

The harm caused by these indecent photos is self-evident, not only infringing on the privacy of these actresses but also causing adverse social impacts. Notably, the "sex photo scandal" has endangered the marriages of some female artists. For instance, Zhang Bai Zhi's marriage has been severely affected by the scandal. Chen Wen Yuan (BoBo), who has recently stepped back from the entertainment industry, got involved in the scandal, which infuriated her future mother-in-law and forced her to break up with BoBo, who has since moved back to her parents' home... The list goes on.

I am not an expert in law, but in my view, the "sex photo scandal" seems to have gone far beyond the moral level. At least, legal proceedings should be initiated against the main character of the scandal - Edison Chen. Despite appearances that the male and female protagonists in the scandal were both willing participants, various signs indicate that Edison Chen may have committed a crime. Setting aside how indecent the leaked photos are (such as the semi-nude photos allegedly of Zhang Bai Zhi revealing a red flower tattoo on her lower right abdomen, photos of someone dressed in a police uniform gradually removing their clothes, then posing in extremely obscene positions in bed with a background similar to the room settings in Edison Chen's blog; last night's leaked photos allegedly of BoBo showed the woman fully naked, posing in different obscene positions in bed, etc.), just the suspicion that Edison Chen used date rape drugs to lure these actresses is enough to get him into serious trouble - if this turns out to be true, Edison Chen cannot escape responsibility. It's not just suspected criminal behavior but a confirmed substantive crime.

"Strict laws lead people to think of good, while slack governance causes evil to arise." If Edison Chen is indeed suspected of committing a crime, he should be punished according to the law (I must clarify, I have no grudge against Edison Chen), and not just those who spread the photos (which is also necessary). Otherwise, as I mentioned earlier, the entertainment industry will never have peace, and we can't guarantee that one day another "Wang Guan Xi" sex photo scandal will emerge.
