Han Liancheng's Resume
Han Liancheng (1909-1984), from Guyuan, Ningxia, joined the military in 1925. He was a legendary figure in both the Kuomintang (KMT) and Communist camps. While close to Chiang Kai-shek in the Nationalist Party, he earned the common trust of three opposing factions' high-level leaders: Feng Yuxiang praised him as "having shared hardships with me during the Northern Expedition," he led the main force of the Gui clique on the正面抗日battlefield, and after the defeat at Laiwu, he paradoxically got closer to Chiang Kai-shek, participating in the highest levels of confidential matters, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
