The deceased has passed on, leaving behind a world of infinite繁华 that has turned to ashes. The sudden passing of Hou Yaowen has left a great sense of regret among his family and the countless fans who adored him. Yesterday, I visited the three places in Beijing where Hou Yaowen spent his final days living, working, and staying, paying my respects to the departed. The Hou family has refused media visits thus far, and I went to pay respects as a friend. Out of respect for the deceased, I did not take out my camera.
In the home located in the Rose Garden neighborhood, a wreath sent by his daughter was placed in the center. Hou Yaowen's shrine was set up at home; due to limited space, the wreaths were placed both inside and outside the house, with the most noticeable one being the wreath sent by Pan Changjiang, visible at the staircase corner.
Upon hearing that I was a friend from Shenyang, the head of the Railway Cultural Troupe, Mr. Liu, and Hou Yaowen's disciple, Chen Hanbai, quickly came out to greet me. When I took out the black banner signed by readers during the memorial event held by our newspaper on the 24th, Chen Hanbai immediately turned away to wipe his tears. He soon turned back and said, "On behalf of the teacher, thank you. Please come in and bow your respects."
