◎Introduction:

On Valentine's Day, the probation period of love for Fung (played by Wu Ching-Lam) is up. Can he win the heart of his dream goddess Qi (played by Tang So-Ki)? Wai (played by Ce田) is a shopping mall singer who hopes to express his feelings through songs to Bao (played by Deng Li-Xin), who delivers flowers in the mall. Will their relationship blossom? The bizarre story of Long and Hu (played by I Love You Boyz) meeting an online one-day lover, Xiao Jin Yu (played by Yang Ai-Jin), turns into an unexpected fantastical reverse edge! Zu (played by Leung Cho-Yiu) and Fang (played by Kay Tse) have been in a seven-year relationship that has reached the emergency rescue stage on the way to the hospital. Will this Valentine's dinner be their last meal together? Hui (played by Leung Sam-Mei), a flirtatious man, plans to date three girlfriends simultaneously on Valentine's Day. But will reality disrupt his well-laid plans?

All these answers are revealed in "Keep Loving You."

The film consists of five short stories: "Love Probation Period," "Silence Speaks Louder Than Words," "One-Day Lover," "Final Dinner," and "Divided Body." However, these five stories are not entirely separate but rather interwoven with each other, similar to last year's "Love Forever" directed by Choi Yun-Sin.

Love Probation Period:

Three months ago, Fung (played by Wu Ching-Lam) began dating his long-time crush, female colleague Qi (played by Tang So-Ki). However, Qi asked Fung to keep it a secret and to be the perfect boyfriend for three months. This year's Valentine's Day marks the end of the three-month probation period. Can Fung successfully pass Qi's test?

Silence Speaks Louder Than Words:

Wei (played by Ce田) is a shopping mall singer. Every day during his performances, he looks forward to seeing Bao, who owns a small flower shop in the mall. Her smile gives him more confidence. This year on Valentine's Day, Wei decides to confess his long-hidden love to Bao. However, he learns that Bao is deaf and plays a little game...

One-Day Lover:

Long and Hu (played by I Love U Boyz) are two young men living in their own world, never understanding how to interact with the opposite sex and having no experience with romance. This year on Valentine's Day, the brothers suddenly want to find a girl to spend Valentine's Day with them. They meet a female netizen named Goldfish on a dating website, who voluntarily becomes their one-day lover...

Final Dinner:

Zu (played by Leung Cho-Yiu) and Fang (played by Kay Tse) have been in a relationship for seven years and have entered the "seven-year itch" phase. After countless arguments, they feel disheartened and decide to eat a Valentine's Day dinner at a familiar restaurant and then break up after the meal. However, memories from the past seven years start to resurface...

Divided Body:

Hui (played by Leung Sam-Mei) is a great Casanova. This year's Valentine's Day becomes his busiest day of the year because all four of his girlfriends want to spend Valentine's Day with him. Based on their backgrounds, Hui plans to spend breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner with each of them respectively. But plans don't go as smoothly as expected...

Plot Summary:

In 2008, new-generation director Yip Nian-Chan released "My Favorite," "Dear," and "The Two Magnificent Ones" one after another. However, their box office and reputation fates varied — "My Favorite," considered the last part of the "love trilogy," attracted many young audiences during the Easter season and was praised for allowing viewers to find traces of their growth processes in the stories, thus resonating with them. "Dear," described as a "new chapter of horror romance," received lower reviews and box office results compared to "Sweet & Sour" from the same year. By the time "The Two Magnificent Ones" was released, it brought back Deng Li-Xin paired with Wu Yu-Fei, presenting a comedy style characterized by "all-out fire and madness," which slightly salvaged Yip Nian-Chan's reputation.

Perhaps learning from the disappointing lessons of "Dear" and "The Two Magnificent Ones," Yip Nian-Chan returned to his annual "romance topic works" and launched this "Keep Loving You." Not only did he collaborate again with Deng Li-Xin, Wu Ching-Lam, and Leung Sam-Mei, but he also continued the character names from previous films (such as Deng Li-Xin playing Bao and Wu Ching-Lam playing Fung, though the stories remain independent). However, Fong Li-Shun had already met an untimely death in "My Favorite," and there is no "resurrection" in this movie.

The film features numerous characters (with 14 main characters) and is divided into five stories, but the plots are set on Valentine's Day. Except for the "Final Dinner" segment, most of the plots take place on this year's Valentine's Day. Director Yip Nian-Chan's ambition does not lie in telling a new love story every year but rather in creating a grand collage, attempting to become a "floating world painting." In this way, perhaps different people can see their own traces in different stories, but it also makes the plot superficial and lacking in depth. (Some viewers believe that if the film removes one or two stories and changes the runtime to around 105 minutes, the effect might be better.)

In fact, the key question is whether the film can help the audience regain confidence in Yip Nian-Chan. After all, "Dear" and "The Two Magnificent Ones" greatly disappointed the audience, while romance topic works like "Ten Minutes • Love" and "My Favorite" are what the audience truly loves about Yip Nian-Chan.
