Wenzhou's first confirmed case of H1N1 influenza, Mr. Xiao Qian, is scheduled to be discharged this morning. Yesterday, the city's Party Secretary and Mayor, Zhao Yide, who had just returned from a provincial government delegation inspection, visited the medical staff and Mr. Xiao Qian at the West Campus of the Second People's Hospital, and arranged for the next phase of prevention and control work. Standing Committee Member, Deputy Mayor, and United Front Work Department Minister Chen Zuorong accompanied him during the visit.

Yesterday afternoon, Zhao Yide also checked the isolation ward where the patient was being treated through video surveillance, and made a phone call to Mr. Xiao Qian to inquire about his physical condition.

Since May 24, the patient, Mr. Xiao Qian, has been receiving isolation treatment at the West Campus of the Second People's Hospital. His temperature has remained normal, clinical symptoms have disappeared, and his mental state is good.

After the confirmed case was isolated at the West Campus of the Second People's Hospital, the city's health department immediately organized a medical expert team to fully treat the patient and provided level-one nursing care.

At 5:00 PM on May 29, after a discussion by both the provincial and municipal expert teams on the patient's condition, it was unanimously determined that the patient’s throat swab influenza virus nucleic acid tests were negative for two consecutive days on May 28 and 29, his temperature has been normal for more than three days, and his symptoms have disappeared, meeting the Ministry of Health's discharge criteria. It was decided to agree to the patient's discharge on May 31, and report to the Ministry of Health for record.

According to national health department regulations, determining the recovery of a confirmed case must meet two conditions simultaneously: the patient's temperature remains below 37°C for three consecutive days (72 hours); and throat swab laboratory testing shows that the H1N1 virus nucleic acid is negative for two consecutive days.
