Tomorrow (April 1) is the sixth anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death. "Ashes of Time Redux" premiered in Hong Kong last night (March 30). Celebrities including Brigitte Lin, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Carina Lau, Charlie Young and Wong Kar Wai attended to remember their deceased friend Leslie Cheung. Anita Mui pre-recorded a video clip for the occasion, holding her son Lucas while reminiscing about Brother Leslie.
"Ashes of Time Redux", which started its premiere tour at Cannes, selected the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival as its final premiere stop. The organizing committee specially held this premiere to remember the soul character in the movie - Leslie Cheung. Besides setting up an "In Memories of Leslie Cheung" backdrop on the red carpet, they also invited guests to light candles to pay tribute to Leslie. During the ceremony, video clips from many of Leslie's celebrity friends were played, expressing their thoughts on him.
