Famous crosstalk actor Fan Zhenyu passed away in Tianjin due to illness at the age of 82. The farewell ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM the day after tomorrow at the Tianjin Beicang Funeral Home.
Fan Zhenyu was born in Tianjin in 1927 and apprenticed under Ban Degui in 1950, learning how to perform as a supporting actor in crosstalk. After completing his apprenticeship, he joined the Tianjin Heping District Art and Acrobatics Troupe. In 1979, he was transferred to the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Art Troupe together with Gao Yingpei, where they collaborated for over 40 years with remarkable默契 (chemistry). Their main works include "Fishing," "Who Are You Opposing," "Unjust Winds," "Lesson," and "Everyone Is Happy."
