Laia Abril, a young documentary photographer born in 1984, hails from Barcelona, Spain. She graduated with a degree in journalism and has participated in photography programs at several institutions, including the ICP. She initially worked as a photographer for NGOs and Spanish newspapers in regions such as the Balkans and currently works for COLORS magazine. "Femme Love" is the series by Laia Abril that was shortlisted for the Ian Parry Award in 2009.
