In 1975, at the age of 35, Shinoyama began to use nude women and sexy pin-ups as his photographic subjects, causing an undeniable shock to Japan's then-conservative society. His 1997 photobook *Shoujo Kan* (*Maiden Hall*) has since become a classic in the world of photography. Many of the teenage models who participated in the project went on to achieve great fame later on, including Yoshino Saka, Kurihara Chiaki, Mizutani Hiro, Suzu Sara, Hamachi Maya, Ando Nozomi, Ogura Seira, and Ando Saint, among others.
