The series of photographs entitled "Private Views" were mainly taken between 1980 and 1984 at many large public festivals in Chicago. "I cherish the universal life experiences depicted in these photographs, and at the same time, they also document a special moment of the era. This is a dialogue between the old Polaroid camera and the unique present world." Barbara Crane worked tirelessly with her super graphic 4×5 camera, Polaroid back, and countless boxes of Polaroid film in the sweltering summer heat, getting up close and personal with her subjects. These photographs are the hard-earned fruits of passion and love.
