Appreciation of the shortlisted works of the 2011 Sony World Photography Awards, Open Competition

The Sony World Photography Awards, one of the influential photography awards in the world, is also one of the biggest photography events today. It covers almost all subjects or schools, from fine art to fashion, advertising and sports application photography, from humanism and realism photography on humanity, society, culture and current affairs to environmental photographs on natural landscape, wild life and ecological environment. The Sony World Photography Awards Ceremony and the central exhibition showing the shortlisted and winning images are held once a year at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France.
