American single mother weighs nearly 300 kilograms, has not left home in 16 years

Living in Miami, Dominique Lanoise, 40, has not left her home in 16 years because she ballooned to more than 45 stone. The mother-of-six, from America, became so huge she could not find clothes big enough - and was forced to sit naked on her bed all day while her children cared for her. But thanks to a liquid diet ahead of gastric surgery, her weight is finally starting to drop. The single mother said: "I used to be slim but I started putting on weight after I had my first child." She had her first daughter when she was just 16 - who is now 24.
