Three activists from the Ukrainian feminist movement Femen staged a protest on Sunday, baring their breasts in the office where Vladimir Putin, the heavy favorite in the presidential election, had just cast his vote. They were quickly apprehended.

The young women, with bare breasts, had written "I steal for Putin" in black on their chests. Security agents and police immediately and roughly detained them.

According to their website femen.livejournal.com, the three activists intended to steal the ballot box into which the current Russian Prime Minister had inserted his ballot just minutes before. They shouted: "Putin thief!"

The FEMEN movement became a phenomenon in Ukraine and then in Europe by organizing topless protest actions to denounce the condition of women, corruption, prostitution, or economic and social inequalities.

In February 2010, four activists undressed during the Ukrainian presidential election in Viktor Yanukovych's polling station, who was then elected head of state.
