Hugh Turvey, 43, a British photographer who studied design in his early years, took an X-ray of a skull for the cover of a friend's music album in 1996 and hasn't looked back since. Since then, he has used the technique to photograph a range of subjects in colored X-rays.

At the age of 39, Hugh became fascinated with finding the hidden parts of things below the surface. He said, "It's my curiosity that drives me to discover the world around us. When I was young, I wanted to take everything apart to see what was inside and how it worked. I was insanely curious about all kinds of things, and the peculiar X-ray gave me a way to gain insight into the nature of things. It's also an art."
