The Intensity of Death - Gothic Photography by Joel Peter Witkin

Joel Peter Witkin grew up in the Brooklyn slums of New York. At the age of six, he witnessed a car accident where the head of a run-over little girl rolled to his feet. This childhood experience influenced his later creation. All of his works are exploring violence, pain, and death, pointing to freaks and human pathology.
