A total of 13,000 people from 143 countries around the world took an oath to join the Australian nationality in 325 nationalization ceremonies held during the Australia Day celebrations on January 26, 2011. Among all people who joined the Australian nationality, the majority were from the UK, totaling 3,250 people; the second biggest group was from India, numbering approximately 1,598 people; Chinese became the third largest group, totaling 926 people.
