In August 2009, a new term entered the lives of pregnant women in Qianjiang District of Chongqing - "Pregnant Moms Class." This was initiated by Mead Johnson Nutrition (China) Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to pilot the "Pregnant Moms Class" at the Qianjiang District Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Chongqing.

It is reported that this "Pregnant Moms Class" is an essential part of Mead Johnson's "Love Medical Training Camp" revisit activity in Qianjiang. By conducting the "Pregnant Moms Class" and organizing expert consultations, it aims to reinforce the local community's concept of continuous prenatal care education and better enhance the awareness of prenatal care among expectant mothers in impoverished areas.

To this end, Mead Johnson specially invited experts in maternal and child health and nutritional health to hold relevant lectures for the local pregnant mothers. They informed them about the impact of inadequate prenatal care on maternal and infant health, the importance of prenatal nutrition for fetal brain development, and other matters to be noted during pregnancy. The launch of this class also allowed local medical staff to gain a deeper understanding of the teaching content and significance of prenatal care, playing a positive exemplary role in prenatal care training in impoverished areas. Additionally, Mead Johnson brought a batch of books on prenatal care, placed in the "Pregnant Moms Class," for expectant mothers to read daily, enhancing their awareness of pre-delivery care and fetal health.

Regarding the launch of the class, Mr. Gong Jiehe, the Dean of the Qianjiang District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, expressed his deep feelings: "The launch of the 'Pregnant Moms Love Class' has provided excellent demonstrative teaching for our ongoing prenatal care classes. Not only have we learned more updated knowledge about prenatal care teaching, but it has also opened a new chapter for the hospital to continuously and effectively disseminate prenatal care knowledge to pregnant mothers, helping reduce birth risks caused by improper prenatal care. Mead Johnson not only brought us material resources, but more importantly, knowledge and innovation in our concepts."

To consolidate the results of the "Love Medical Training Camp," Mead Johnson organized four experts to follow up on the secondary training conducted by trained participants after they returned to their respective locations, understanding the issues they encountered in secondary training and medical work. Mead Johnson also donated infant formula worth 3 million yuan to Qianjiang and visited six extremely poor families receiving donations in their homes, exchanging knowledge on infant care, giving away formula, and demonstrating how to prepare it, solving problems for local mothers. As Ms. Chen Xiaomin, Director of External Affairs at Mead Johnson, said, "Caring assistance should be continuous. From advocating the concept of 'knowledge poverty alleviation' in 2007, to hosting the medical training camp, and introducing prenatal care knowledge, these are all our efforts to improve the level of medical care in impoverished areas. We hope to help impoverished mothers and infants comprehensively and deeply through multi-level aid methods, bringing them healthy and happy lives."
