The history of the Ye Lang Kingdom can be traced back to roughly the Warring States period through to the reign of Emperor Cheng of the Western Han Dynasty, existing for around 300 years before mysteriously disappearing.
Due to the lack of historical records, in recent years there has been debate about the location of the ancient Ye Lang Kingdom.
The fates of China's three most mysterious ancient kingdoms vary greatly: the Lou Lan Kingdom disappeared into the desert, the Da Li Kingdom became a famous tourist destination, and the Ye Lang Kingdom only remains in people's minds as the Chinese idiom "Ye Lang self-importance". On the 16th, Xinhuang County in Hunan announced that it would invest 5 billion yuan RMB to rebuild the "Ye Lang Kingdom".
