Yesterday, there were reports online that a reporter from the Chongqing Morning Post was sent to labor camp by the Chongqing police for publishing improper comments online. In response, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau stated that the individual spread rumors online affecting social order, but the police were only investigating the matter and had not implemented any labor re-education measures. The Chongqing Morning Post issued a statement last night stating, "No reporters or employees of the Chongqing Morning Post have been dealt with by the police." Some media outlets reported online that three reporters from the Chongqing Morning Post were investigated by the police for publishing improper comments online. Two of them have already returned to normal work, while another reporter was sentenced to labor camp by relevant departments for making inappropriate remarks on the Tianya Forum.
