The Millau Viaduct, a cable-stayed bridge spanning the Tarn River in southern France, was completed on December 14, 2004, and opened to traffic on December 16. It is a masterpiece collaborated by a famous British architect and a French engineer. As the tallest bridge in the world, it stands at an impressive height of 314 meters, even surpassing the Eiffel Tower, and is only 40 meters shorter than the Empire State Building.
