July 24, a mass incident happened in Tonghua Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. of Jilin Tongsan Group. Some employees gathered in the plant area to petition against Hebei Jianlong Group's capital increase and share expansion on Tonghua Group, once causing the stop of seven blast furnaces, and Chen Guojun, the general manager dispatched by Jianlong Group to Tonghua Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., was beaten to death. On the afternoon of July 27, at the press conference held by the Jilin Provincial People's Government News Office, Wang Xidong, deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Jilin Province made the first announcement about the course of this incident.
