There were a lot of highlights in this ranking list under the background of the global financial crisis. The number of American enterprises on the list reached its lowest point in 14 years and changes also occurred in the rankings of the top three enterprises globally. Walmart gave up its position as the largest enterprise globally last year to Royal Dutch Shell. The number of Chinese enterprises on the list has been increasing year by year. This year, 43 enterprises were on the list, refreshing the record of 35 enterprises last year. Among them, Sinopec Group entered the global top 10 for the first time, becoming the highest ranked Chinese enterprise on this list at No. 9 globally.
