Original Appreciation
On March 25th, of the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), which was the day when the National Beijing Women's Normal University held a memorial service for Liu Hezhen and Yang Dequn, who were killed on the 18th in front of Duan Qirui's executive government, I was alone, pacing outside the auditorium. I encountered Miss Cheng, who came up and asked me, "Has the Master written anything in memory of Liu Hezhen?" I replied, "No." Then she earnestly advised me, "Master, you should write something; Liu Hezhen loved to read your articles when she was alive."
