I. The Origin of "Brain Exposure": My First Open Class - Wang Dongxu's Blog

In April and May, the whole department carried out an open class month activity, with supervisors nominating teachers to give these open classes. This activity was conducted on a large scale; Supervisor Ms. Zhang required that all teachers in the department without teaching duties on the day of the open class must attend and listen in. Our department has about 40 professional teachers, and at that time it was also the middle of the semester when courses were transitioning. Many students were taking foundational courses, so in the one or two weeks, more than half of the teachers had no classes scheduled. As a result, at least 20 teachers would attend each open class—this meant that the teacher giving the open class might face more teachers than students, and the pressure was unimaginable.

The "blacklist" was announced on April 17th, a Friday, and the event began on April 20th, which was the following Monday. My name was second on the list, meaning I had to give my lecture on Wednesday, April 22nd.
