Wang Chuanfu was born in 1966, originally from Wuwei County, Anhui Province. Wang Chuanfu graduated in 1987 from the Department of Metallurgical Physical Chemistry at Central South University of Technology, and the same year entered Beijing Nonferrous Metals Research Institute to pursue a master's degree. In 1992, at the age of 26, Wang Chuanfu was exceptionally promoted to the important position of Deputy Director of Room 301 at the Beijing Nonferrous Metals Research Institute. His boldness lies in the fact that while most domestic manufacturers were doing assembly work with low profits and little competitiveness, he insisted on entering the high-tech, high-profit core fields dominated by multinational corporations. He sought to gain stronger competitiveness and higher profits through independent research and development of his company - this was true in both the rechargeable battery industry and the automobile industry.
