After me, the deluge.

"After me, the flood"—this famous saying is supposedly attributed to Louis XV of France. My knowledge of French history is limited to what I learned in middle school. As for the differences between Louis XV and Louis XIII, aside from their names, I only know a bit about the origins of some wines. But this isn't my fault—I'm not French! The fact that Louis XV could come up with such a brilliant statement delights me. I know the French are romantic and proud, and I know that France had a soccer player named Zinedine Zidane who headbutted someone. That's about it. I've always felt that the French people and the Chinese people were very friendly towards each other. How did the two countries suddenly turn against each other overnight? Now, large groups of Chinese people are shouting slogans about boycotting French products again and boycotting Carrefour.
