No. 10: Crocodiles Swallow Stones - For many reasons, a crocodile's stomach is as tough as rock. When its digestive system encounters any part of turtles, fish, birds, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, or other crocodiles (during territorial defense), besides its nearly indestructible bodily systems, its rocky constitution also comes into play. A large number of stones swallowed by the reptile remain permanently in its belly. This situation is believed to act as a ballast when the crocodile swims.
