Mr. Ding Xueliang, a professor and scholar at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Born in a peasant family in southern Anhui. He lost his father at an early age, and lived a hard life, but fortunately brought up by his loving mother. In spite of hunger and cold, he dared not abandon his studies, intermittently continuing until the second year of junior high school. Later, with the strong recommendation of his mentor, he went to study in the United States, and graduated from Harvard University with a doctorate in 1992. He was the last disciple of the famous sociological thought master Daniel Bell.
