In recent years, there has been a so-called "new and old white jade of Hetian jade" commonly seen in the jade market. In fact, most of the jade materials are Qinghai jade (commonly known as Qinghai material) (see Figure 1). Qinghai material is one of the main raw materials used to counterfeit Hetian jade in the market. Although Qinghai jade and Hetian jade belong to the same mountain range, due to various geological environmental factors, there are certain differences between them.
Qinghai white jade is far inferior to Hetian white jade in terms of jade quality and color, but it is very difficult for ordinary people to distinguish between the two, causing many people to mistakenly believe that Qinghai jade is Hetian jade. Qinghai jade comes in various colors, including white, green, gray, gray-white, and black inclusions in white.
