The Guangzhou Jade Market is located around the ancient Hualin Temple, near the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street. It is said to be the place where Master Damo first landed in China. The bustling market attracts merchants and customers from all over the country. Although the majority of the jade is still翡翠 (feicui - jadeite), there is also a significant proportion of soft jade (nephrite). I took some photos to share with jade enthusiasts, and was fortunate enough to see a 21-ton piece of Hetian jade.
