Ice Age baby mammoth in the permafrost of severe cold

During the Ice Age, about forty thousand years ago, she sank into a muddy river shortly after being fully moon. There, the goddess of fate that ruled the tortuous changes of the biological world actually kept her nearly intact. One amazing picture after another shows the main character of this article - Lyuba. She was found in 2007 on the Yamal Peninsula in Siberia by a reindeer herdsman, and was named Lyuba after the herdsman's wife. Lyuba merely lost the coarse hair and nails on her skin, making her the best-preserved baby mammoth sample discovered so far in the "grave" deep within Russia's permafrost layer.
