My earliest understanding of *Dream of the Red Chamber* came from the CCTV TV series adaptation and a hasty reading of the 120-chapter book in traditional Chinese during my third year of junior high. Although I was aware of "Redology" (Red Chamber scholarship) early on, I had never read any books analyzing *Dream of the Red Chamber*. However, over the past year or so, I have gradually read Liu Xinwu's four-part series *Unveiling the Secrets of the Red Chamber*, which has deepened my understanding of the political background of *Dream of the Red Chamber*, its writing technique of "hiding the truth behind fictional narratives," and its vivid, touching character portrayals.

What initially captivated me in *Unveiling the Secrets of the Red Chamber* was Liu Xinwu’s analysis of the prototype for Qin Keqing, which revealed a prolonged political struggle between the Sun and Moon factions during the Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong reigns of the Qing dynasty. I couldn’t help but admire Liu Xinwu’s profound research into *Dream of the Red Chamber* and his rich historical imagination. Since I’ve always been fond of history, Liu Xinwu’s studies and explorations linking the novel’s content to Cao Xueqin’s family rise and fall, as well as the political backdrop of the time, have greatly increased my interest in further understanding *Dream of the Red Chamber*.
