Morning Post (Reporter Liu Ting) - Yesterday, Han Han's new work "Za De Wen" was released. In this collection of essays compiled from his recent blog posts, Han Han satirically evaluates the people and events around him. Facing the question of taking old blog posts and publishing them as a book, Han Han said he didn't receive a single penny from the publisher when he submitted the manuscript.
Han Han considers this book to be the most representative and commemorative work of his ten-year career. The subtle envy towards the rich in Chinese society, the lack of ambition in Chinese films, and the "strange talk" of some avant-garde poets have all become targets of his criticism. Regarding the public's anger over Liu Guoliang purchasing a car worth over one million yuan, Han Han remarked: "For someone who has won so many world championships, it's not surprising that he bought it himself. Even if the sports bureau transferred some money from the men's football team to give him a car, it wouldn't be strange." After watching a series of disappointing domestic films, Han Han commented: "If the box office isn't doing well, everyone shares the responsibility. Chinese people inherently lack a sense of life enjoyment; for instance, queuing up until 10:00 PM on Christmas to eat a pseudo-Western meal counts as doing something with life interest once a year." He summarized: "Our directors aim for their own happiness; our screenwriters can't write themselves to fame; our movies can only reach this level."
This time, Han Han is publishing articles previously posted on his blog. Regarding the ensuing doubts, he stated that he sold "Glory Day" for three million yuan years ago, but this time he handed over the manuscript to the publisher without receiving any payment, planning to calculate royalties based on future sales per book. He even sarcastically criticized some critics in the preface: "Why do people readily approve when newspaper columnists compile their works into books? You are happy when counterfeiters make money, but you are displeased when authors receive royalties. I really want to stuff you into Edison Chen's camera!"
