In April of the sixteenth year of Zhengde (1521), Zhu Houcong arrived at the capital city.

Prior to this, he had resided in Anlu, Huguang (Zhongxiang, Hubei). The reason why this member of the royal family lived in such a small place was not due to humility and prudence, but rather out of necessity. His father, Prince Xian of Xing, had been enfeoffed there. As the son of a feudal prince, he did not have permission to stay in the capital.
