If you still remember, there is such a plot in the book: Tang僧 and his three disciples once went to a place called Chechi Country. The emperor there promoted Taoism and was superstitious about becoming an immortal. There were also some weird Taoist priests like Master Huli. In the end, they were beaten up by Sun Wukong and sent to see Yan Wang.
By the time, you should understand why it was banned. This kind of trick of scolding people without using dirty words has been quite common. And that famous line "Emperors take turns to sit, it will be my turn next year", I guess no one else dare to say it except for Sun Wukong.
In short, it was an era of pain and pleasure, at least that's what I think.
Ming Muzong Zhu Zaihou
In 1566, Zhu Zaihou ascended the throne with the era name Longqing. He waited for more than twenty years, finally his father died and he got the throne.
It was not easy for this guy to get to this position because he ascended the throne according to the late emperor's edict. What the edict was all about has been explained before. Jiajing deceived his son for so many years and did not say a word about succession until his death.
Anyway, now he was already the emperor, Longqing started to convene ministers for court sessions.
