Jun and Jia were classmates in junior high school. Every time there was an exam, their grades were always among the top in the class. Interestingly, Jia's scores were always just a little bit better than Jun's. In Jun's eyes, Jia was so detestable that he regarded her as a thorn in his side and swore to surpass her.

After relentless efforts, Jun finally realized his wish in the third year of junior high school. From then on, Jun's grades were consistently above Jia's. As a result, Jun received praise from teachers and parents and was seen by classmates as a potential candidate for a key high school. However, Jun didn't feel particularly happy about it. Instead, he felt like something was missing. Every time he saw Jia, she no longer seemed as讨厌 as before. On the contrary, when he talked to her, he always seemed incoherent, with a rapid heartbeat, flushed face, and every day looked forward to seeing Jia. He even dreamed about her in his sleep. Jun didn't know why this was happening, and his grades plummeted as a result.

A year went by in the blink of an eye. Jun didn't get into a key high school and ended up at a local ordinary high school, while Jia chose a normal school. For the next three years, they had no contact.

During the three years of high school, Jun often missed Jia, but he never told anyone. He studied hard, wanting to forget everything and to forever forget Jia, but he couldn't. He still frequently flipped through his photo album alone, staring blankly at the pictures from his junior high school graduation, where Jia's every word and action seemed vividly present.

Three years may seem long, but for high school students, it feels like just one day. Jun endured the dark month of July and got into his ideal medical university.
