In November 2001, to welcome the arrival of the new century, the People's Bank of China specially issued the "Welcoming the New Century" commemorative banknote, which carried the beautiful wishes of the Chinese people for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the new century. To commemorate the issuance of this special commemorative banknote and showcase the rapid development of China's banknote printing technology, with the approval of the People's Bank of China, a special "Welcoming the New Century" commemorative banknote precious metal miniature series - "Dragon Banknote + Dragon Silver + Dragon Stamp" was produced and issued.

This set of precious metal miniature series combines banknote printing and coin minting technologies ingeniously. Not only does it faithfully reproduce the original banknote, but it also enhances its aesthetic and collection value. The miniature version retains the high-tech banknote printing techniques of the original commemorative banknote and incorporates contemporary advanced coin-making processes such as sandblasted engraving, color printing, and laser holography. The front design features the ascending dragon pattern from the Nine-Dragon Wall in Beihai Park, while the back design mainly showcases the grand image of the Chinese Millennium Monument.

One of the precious metal miniatures, the pure silver version, contains 128 grams of 99.9% pure silver. It is limited to an issue of 8,000 sets. Each set comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity and a "Welcoming the New Century" commemorative dragon banknote. Moreover, the dragon banknote number and the certificate number are identical.

The "Dragon Banknote + Dragon Silver + Dragon Stamp" Collection was made by the Shanghai Mint and produced by Ren Yin Kegongmao Co., Ltd., personally signed by the Chairman of Ren Yin Kegongmao Co., Ltd., the Director of the Shanghai Printing Works, and the Director of the Shanghai Mint! First, it has unique authority as it was approved by the People's Bank of China; secondly, it is the first "dragon banknote"; thirdly, it is currently the only "dragon banknote"; fourthly, it is rare — unlike stamps that can be issued in tens of millions or even hundreds of millions, or even regular RMB that hasn't been issued in limited quantities, this collection is limited to 8,000 sets, making it extremely rare; fifthly, it is precious — the 'dragon' on the national treasure artifact, the Nine-Dragon Wall, and the World Heritage 'Dunhuang Flying Apsaras' all highlight its artistic value. With these five advantages, its collection value may surpass that of the first set of RMB.

Mr. Ouyang Zhengde from the Chinese Collectors Association said: The first zodiac stamp, the "Monkey Stamp" sheet, increased from its issue price of 6.4 yuan to 350,000 yuan today, rising over 50,000 times; the first commemorative coin also rose more than 3,000 times. This item is China's first and only set of RMB "dragon banknote" collectibles, harboring infinite potential for investment and collection.

In recent years, the rise in coin collectibles has awakened people's re-recognition of coin collecting investments. To commemorate the 2008 Olympics, the Bank of China specially issued a 10-yuan Olympic commemorative banknote, which has now risen from 10 yuan to over 3,000 yuan per note! With 2012 just around the corner, why not reserve a set for yourself at this once-in-a-lifetime moment? By the time 2012 arrives, it won’t be possible to buy one for just a few thousand yuan! The pure gold miniature version is complex in production, finely crafted, integrates art and collection, perfectly reproduces the original commemorative banknote's charm, and represents the perfect combination of banknote printing and coin minting craftsmanship. It is an invaluable collector’s item!
