In 1949, in Vallauris, France, Gjon Mili, a photographer for LIFE magazine, visited Picasso. He showed Picasso some photos of light-painting: skaters with little lights attached to their skates gliding through the dark. Picasso was immediately attracted to this form of photography and inspired by it, resulting in this precious set of photographs that documented Picasso's "light painting". Perhaps he was the forefather of today's popular light and shadow painting!
