For explorers of the unknown world, human cognitive tools and methods should strive to "leave out none." Missing a single tool often means an additional blind spot. A blind spot can sometimes lead to shielding or distortion of the truth, which may result in fundamentally wrong conclusions.

There are four commonly used cognitive (research) tools: dialectics, mathematics, experimentation, and average-law logic. The best choice is to use all four simultaneously, thereby avoiding research tool limitations and blind spots to the greatest extent possible. The worst choice is to use only one, as the limitations of that tool might shield part of the truth—or even distort it.
